For those of you that don’t already know I am planning on running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 14 October. It will be a beautiful run and a personal challenge for me trying to do it in under 2 hours. I am 5 weeks into my training schedule and so far (just about) so good.
But this run is not really about me. I am running in aid of Ovarian Cancer Action to raise awareness of the disease and raise loads of money to fund vital research.
Most importantly I will be running in memory of Sarah Emly, my brother in law’s sister, who passed away in December last year - just over 2 years following her diagnosis of ovarian cancer.
Sarah’s courage, determination and unwavering positivity in the years following her diagnosis was an absolute inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Everything that was so very special about Sarah and what she taught us all about love, family, generosity and bravery will be remembered always and no doubt continue to inspire and motivate everyone who knew and loved her - including me.
It will be to honour Sarah’s memory and in support of her family that I will be running. So please dig deep and give what you can whether it be big or small, all donations will be happily and thankfully received.
Much love
Lizzie xxx
